Based in Edinburgh, Scotland,
the Electric Avenue Band presents an
original genre-defying vision: late-night
sounds inspired by New York, Lisbon, Rio
and Shanghai.
Here is timeless poetic rock for today.
Jazz, bossa nova, and Chinese folk
music are all part of the brew. Here is a
spirit that refuses to be limited with the
vagaries of musical boundaries.
We invite you to listen, off the grid but on
the heartbeat! With Ailsa Bates,
Jean-David Caillouët, Iain Campbell,
and Lynn Sampsell.
Fiona from the Scottish Highlands is one
of Scotland’s top Gaelic Singers and is
unique in the style in which she performs,
‘Classic Gaelic’ – Celtic music with a
contemporary twist.
Her latest release ‘A Good Suit of Clothes’
on Greentrax (July 2009), arranged by
Irvin Duguid, has been described as “the
most moving Celtic Music I have ever
heard” – Folk.eu, and “most exquisite
arrangements, remaining faithful to the
spirit of the material, whilst gracing them
with an overall sound that manages to
be subtle, sumptuous and elegant” –
M Wilson.
Fiona is a Mod Gold Medallist and the
partnership with Duguid has produced a
new genre of Gaelic. Solo, recital or band,
this is Celtic music at its most effecting.
Lou Noble’s music has had as its
influence, swing, jazz, and well-crafted
folk songs. It has been described as
‘sultry jazz-folk’ and contains a grit and
depth of emotion which reflects Lou’s
attitude to life and her experience.
Lou Noble is a solo singer/guitarist
although she also performs with her
band ‘The Source’. Her song, ‘Reached
a Point’ gained success in 2007 on
the unsigned Independent web station,
‘PulseRated’, reaching semi-final stages
of the UK Songwriting and UK Unsigned
Competitions in the same year. She has
an evocative stage presence and ability
to express the diverse, resulting in many
captivating live performances!
Beautiful melodies, often with a rhythmic
swing compliment songs which carry
messages from a wise soul!
Singer and guitarist J. Eoin has over
20 years experience as a live performer.
Moving between Ireland and New York in
the late 80’s, he settled in London where
he established himself as part of the
thriving Irish Folk scene at that time.
Early releases ‘Ribbonmen’ and ‘Sean
One Shoe’ defined J. Eoin’s ‘song poetry’
writing style and received critical acclaim
for their historical relevance. The release
of the 2001 album ‘Exiles’, a collection of
songs relating to the personal experience
of relocation, received regular radio play
in Ireland.
J. Eoin has a new album ‘Songs from
the Green Wood’ scheduled for release
in Spring 2010 and is currently in
production with Gerry Diver (Lisa Knapp –
‘Wild and Undaunted’).
