One of the most progressive acoustic
bluegrass acts to emerge from the UK
in recent years, the Thunderbridge
Bluegrass Boys combine tight and
uplifting four-part vocal harmonies with
an all-unplugged back line of upright
bass, mandolin, banjo, guitar and dobro.
They always perform around a single
microphone, which gives them amazing
clarity of sound as well as causing a
thrilling onstage choreography.
Their gigs are a non-stop ride through
stories of love, loss, trains and drugs,
all delivered with such emotion and
heartfelt conviction that it is hard not to
appreciate what they do.
With two albums and a live DVD under
their belts, Thunderbridge have come a
long way down a long road, and are loving
every mile.
The Bright Size Gypsies possess the rare
combination of virtuoso musicianship,
skilful composition, inspired arrangements
and a magical stage presence.
Originally inspired by the music of
Django Reinhardt, The Bright Size Gypsies
perform an infectious blend of quirky
original material, funked up gypsy tunes
and a healthy portion of masterfully
re-worked classics by artists such as
Michael Jackson and Schubert!
Their take on Billie Jean is rapidly
becoming something of an urban legend
and is not to be missed!
Since forming in 2005 the band has
played with such international artists as
Tchavolo Schmidtt and Natty Bo.
The Bright Size Gypsies have astounded
sell-out audiences at numerous venues
including Shambala Festival (2008) and
Symphony Hall.
Abi Moore
Abi Moore’s music harks back to those
times when things were hand-crafted and
made to last.
With her foundations rooted in
acoustic music, Abi’s songs are well
crafted, accessible and full of warmth,
reminiscent of the 60s/70s songwriters
– Elton John, Sting, Jon Mitchell and Bob
Dylan. Add in modern day relevance,
cynical grit, a glance to Sheryl Crow and
Karine Polwart and lace it all up with
thought provoking, observational, truthful
and socially aware lyrics.
Staunchly independent, Abi self-released
both ‘The Aftermath of ’96’ in June 2006
and ‘Thins We Should’ve Said’ in March
2009 and is currently on a huge 70 date
tour as ‘Artist of the Month’ with the
highly respected coffee chain Caffe Nero.
