Abagail Grey is fast becoming recognised
as a band “not to be missed in 2009”.
They are on the cusp of releasing their
debut album produced by Chris Geddes
(Belle & Sebastian).
Abagail Grey is a six piece band fronted
by Claire Campbell with vocals, piano and
violin. The rugged voice of Stephen Obern
sharply contrasts her delicate tone whilst
‘the duplets’ add depth to the sound with
their stereo harp, soaring harmonies,
trumpet and piano. Drums and bass
guitar provide a powerful backline.
Their live shows are a rich and dynamic
cacophony of musical soundscapes and
intense lyrical imagery.

Emma Scarr

Emma Scarr is a singer-songwriter from
Leytonstone, East London, writing folk
music with an Americana flavour.
Emma has been active on the live London
scene for approaching two decades.
A proficient player of the guitar, fiddle
and banjo, in recent years she has
concentrated on song craft.
Recent appearances include The Tolpuddle
in Islington Festival, Come Down and
Meet the Folks, The Hove Folk Club,
The Source Below, Watford folk club
and The Leytonstone Festival. She also
performs regularly at Folk in the Cellar,
where she acts as compere.
Character and place driven, Emma’s songs
are grounded in first-hand experience
and observation of the banalities and
triumphs of everyday life. The understated
narratives, forgiving and non-judgmental,
have a sense of resignation but remain
ultimately undefeated.

rambunctious as it is infectious;
weaving styles and genres effortlessly
