Founded 20 years ago the line-up includes<br />

guitar/double bass/violin/accordion/<br />

percussion, with a repertoire of a 1,000<br />

tunes including, Celtic, Cuban, Eastern<br />

European gypsy music, jazz, gypsy<br />

jazz, Spanish, French, tex-mex, calypso,<br />

samba, bluegrass, classical and more.<br />

Regularly receiving standing ovations at<br />

large scale festivals with their ability to<br />

instantly change their musical styles from<br />

all over the world.<br />

They have dazzled audiences with their<br />

spellbinding performances throughout<br />

UK, Europe and the USA.<br />

Kamara are a West African Drum and<br />

Dance Troupe, its members come from<br />

Stoke on Trent, Chester, Leek, Guinee<br />

Conakry, West Africa, Barbados and<br />

London.<br />

They play the wonderful music from<br />

Guinee, West Africa, which is at times,<br />

fast and powerful and at times, melodic<br />

and beautiful, their performances can<br />

include a variety of authentic African<br />

instruments including drums, kora,<br />

balafon, bolon, gongoma, vocals,<br />

acrobatics and dance.<br />

They aim to represent all that is beautiful<br />

about West African music; members of<br />

Kamara have performed worldwide and<br />

have a wealth of performance experience<br />

which all add to the Kamara experience.<br />

Cath James, Martin Harwood and<br />

Eoin Teather play traditional tunes and<br />

songs from Scotland, Ireland and<br />

Cape Breton Island, plus brand new selfpenned<br />

compositions.<br />

Cath (fiddle, viola) was a BBC Young<br />

Tradition Award finalist in 1995,<br />

featured on the first of the Evolving<br />

Tradition albums and was shortlisted in<br />

the 2008 inaugural Niel Gow International<br />

Fiddle Composition Award. Martin (fiddle,<br />

guitar, bouzouki) played with Caravanserai<br />

from 1996-2000. Eoin (vocals, guitar,<br />

bouzouki) has played on stage with some<br />

of the biggest names in Irish music,<br />

including master fiddler Tommy Peoples.<br />

Skyhook formed in Autumn 2005,<br />

and festival appearances so far include<br />

Broadstairs, Bromyard, Brigg fiddle festival,<br />

Wimborne, Off the Tracks, Spratton,<br />

Wheaton Aston, Wath, Sheffield, Celtic<br />

Connections, Cwlwm Celtaidd and Gower.<br />

Australian double bassist and multiinstrumentalist<br />

Nathan Riki Thomson is<br />

a true musical polyglot and his beautiful<br />

debut explores a wide musical palette.<br />

‘Under Ubi’s Tree’ is released on the<br />

NAIM label and is inspired by Nathan’s<br />

travels through Africa, Australasia,<br />

Finland and the UK.<br />

Nathan plays with the Antonio Forcione<br />

Quartet, Adriano Adewale Group and<br />

The Ian McMillan Orchestra and is a tutor<br />

at the Guildhall School of <strong>Music</strong>.<br />

Nathan is currently touring his own<br />

ensemble to promote the release of his<br />

album featuring an international line-up<br />

of multi-instrumentalists and vocals.<br />
