Technical Officials <strong>Handbook</strong>- ArcheryDeparture ProceduresDeparting from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) AirportAll technical officials should ensure that they depart from India before their visa/NVP expires (13November 2010). Transport will be provided for Technical Officials from the accommodationsites/Venues to the Indira Gandhi International Airport. On arrival at the airport, OC CWG 2010’sAirport team will direct Technical Officials to the appropriate area of the terminal. Passengers willproceed to the airline check-in counters and from there, will make their way to outboundimmigration. They must present a valid passport, completed Embarkation Card and boarding passto an Immigration Officer.Note: A tourist can take out foreign exchange brought in by him/her and declared by him/her atthe time of arrival. Even if he/she had not submitted any declaration at the time of his/her arrival,he/she can take out foreign currency notes not exceeding US $ 5000 (or equivalent) or aggregatevalue of foreign exchange in the form of currency note, bank notes, traveller cheques, etc. notexceeding US $ 10000 (or equivalent).Export of Indian currency by foreign tourists is prohibited. Goods/sports discipline items etc. inpassengers accompanied or unaccompanied baggage which would usually be liable for duty and taxand are exempted from customs duty during Commonwealth Games time are to be re-exportedwith the passenger on departure. Knives, sharp objects, cutting implements, needles and sportinggoods may be carried in hold baggage but are not permitted in carry-on baggage (i.e. cabinbaggage).Heritage ItemsAccording to the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972 under the Constitution of India, it is illegalto take or send out of India, without a permit, items identified as important to India’s culturalheritage. These include antiquities such as coins, stone sculpture, terra cotta, ivory carvings,jewellery, antique tiger skins, metal and stone statues, woodwork, seal, medals, epigraphs,paintings, murals, rock art, manuscripts etc. and other items that are considered valuable and beenin existence for the past 75 to 100 years.Commonwealth Games 2010 9

This processestablishes a constituent group’s eligibility to enter a Games venue and the access entitlementsthey need to fulfil their role. All participants in the CWG Delhi 2010 are subject to an accreditationprocess.Subject to the role and function of technical officials the accreditation card grants access tospecified venues/zones. All officials should carry their card at all times and it should be easily visibleto all.A valid Accreditation Card is required to access: all competition and training venues Commonwealth Games Village (CGV) Main Press Centre (MPC) International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) Games Flagship Hotel – the Ashok (GFH)Points to note: International participants receive the Non Valid Pass (NVP) and prepare for their journey to India. International participants arrive in India and the NVP is validated at airport/Accreditation (ACR)centers to become the Games Accreditation card. Indian Residents are invited to the Accreditation centre to collect the Accreditation Card. Any loss, theft or damage to Cards is rectified by a strict renewal process.
