Technical Officials <strong>Handbook</strong>- ArcheryCompetition FormatThe Archery Competition takes place from October 4 to10, 2010 (Day 1–Day 7) at Yamuna SportsComplex Archery Venue and India Gate.All qualification rounds, individual 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 elimination rounds and team 1/8, 1/4eliminations are held from October 4 to 6, 2010 (Day 1-Day 3) at the Yamuna Sports ComplexArchery Venue.All individual quarterfinals, semi finals and finals, and team semi finals and finals are held fromOctober 7 to 10, 2010 (Day 4-Day 7) at India Gate.The Archery competition consists of eight (8) medals, four (4) for men and four (4) for women.MenIndividual RecurveIndividual CompoundTeam RecurveTeam CompoundWomenIndividual RecurveIndividual CompoundTeam RecurveTeam CompoundCompetition Day 1: Qualification RoundThe qualification round is the 70m Round which consists of 72 arrows shot in 12 ends of six arrowsat 70m on a 122cm target face. From the scores shot in the qualification round, archers will bequalified 1-64 and teams will be qualified 1-16. The shooting time limit in the qualification roundwill be four minutes for each end of six arrows.Competition Day 2: Individual Eliminations RoundsThe individual eliminations rounds consist of 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 eliminations rounds. The matchesfor individual eliminations rounds are drawn by a match-play chart, which is based on the rankingof the 70m Round. Each elimination consists of a head-to-head match from which the winneradvances to the next round.In individual eliminations matches, archers shoot up to three sets of 6 arrows at 70m on a 122cmtarget face. They have four minutes to shoot six arrows, and both archers shoot simultaneously.In case of a bye, archers will be allowed to shoot in their own target, but only for the first two setsafter which they must leave the competition field whilst any three set matches continue. No scorewill be recorded or allowed to be displayed.Competition Day 3: Team Eliminations RoundsThe team eliminations rounds consist of 1/8 and 1/4 eliminations. Each team will consist of threearchers. The matches for team eliminations are drawn by a team match-play chart, which is rankedCommonwealth Games 2010 40
