The Qutub Minar is 72.5 meters high (237.8 ft)and requires 399 steps to get to the top, although ithas not been possible for visitors to ascend thetower for some years, due to safety reasons. Thediameter of the base is 14.3 meters wide while thetop floor measures 3.8 meters in diameter. TheQutub Minar is notable for being one of the earliestand most prominent examples of Indo-Islamicarchitecture. It is surrounded by several otherancient and medieval structures and ruins,collectively known as Qutub complex. The complex islisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one ofthe most popular tourist destinations in Delhi.Akshardham is a Hindu temple complex in Delhi, India.Also referred to as Delhi Akshardham or waminarayanAkshardham, the complex displays centuries oftraditional Indian and Hindu culture, spirituality, andarchitecture. The building was inspired and moderatedby Pramukh Swami Maharaja, the spiritual head of theBochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam SwaminarayanSanstha, whose 3,000 volunteers helped 7, 000 artisansconstruct Akshardham.The temple, which attracts approximately 70 percent ofall tourists who visit Delhi, was officially opened on 6November 2005.AKSHARDHAM TEMPLEIt sits on the banks of the Yamuna adjacent to theproposed 2010 Commonwealth Games village. Themonument at the centre of the complex of built off ofthe Vastu Shastra and Pancharatra Shastra.
