Cerveceria y Malteria Quilmes is making<br />
significant contributions to helping achieve<br />
these goals.<br />
• In 2009, we recycled 94 percent of our solid<br />
waste and brewing by-products at our beer<br />
production facilities.<br />
• In the past two years, we reduced our water<br />
usage 15 percent, going from 4.97 hectoliters<br />
of water per hectoliter of production at the<br />
end of 2007 to 4.22 hectoliters per hectoliter<br />
of production at the end of 2009.<br />
• Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes has reduced<br />
energy consumption per hectoliter by<br />
19 percent over the past 10 years (6 percent<br />
over the past six years) and water consumption<br />
per hectoliter by 42 percent over the past<br />
10 years (12 percent over the last six years).<br />
• Ten years ago, we recovered only 0.1 kg/hl<br />
of our CO2 emissions. Today we recover<br />
0.6 kg/hl, six times more, which has a direct<br />
impact on CO2 emissions; almost 80 percent<br />
of this recovery is used to produce soft drinks.<br />
• 15.4 percent of the fuel used to power our<br />
plants is generated by renewable energy.<br />
• Revenues from recycling of by-products<br />
equaled $4.43 million.<br />
