Appendix A17.1 Mode-Specific Indications and Contraindications17.1.1 Rate-adaptive Pacing<strong>Estella</strong> DR and <strong>Estella</strong> DR-T:DDDR, DDDR-ADIR, DDD-ADI, DDIR, DVIR, VDDR, VVIR, AAIR, VVTR,DOOR, VOOR, AOOR, AATR, VDIR<strong>Estella</strong> SR and <strong>Estella</strong> SR-T:VVIR, VOOR, VVTR, AATR, AOOR, AAIRNOTE:For indications specific to the VDDR mode, see Indications for Use(Section 2).Indications for rate-adaptive pacing may include but are not limitedto the following:--Patients with chronotropic incompetence who have ananticipated moderate or high level of activity and in whom thereis a stable atrial rhythm, and for whom DDD, DDI, DVI, VDD, orVVI pacing is also indicated.--Patients who have persistent VA conduction (dual chambermodes).These indications include but are not limited to sick sinus syndromeand AV block.The rate-adaptive modes of the <strong>Estella</strong> family of pulse generatorsare contraindicated for patients who are known to develop angina orischemia at accelerated pacing rates. In addition, the rate-adaptivemodes are contraindicated in circumstances where the applicablenon-rate-adaptive mode is noted as contraindicated in the followingtext.
