Dual was applied at 1 qt/acrewith the 11-July application of glyphosate.A total of 13 inches of irrigation was applied at this location.According to the producer a total of 12 inches of rainfall wasreceived at this location during the growing season.73

The producer applied a total of 60 more lbs N for a total of149 lbs N/acre.The producer applied 4 oz/acre of Pentia at pin head squarefollowed by two applications of Stance at 2 oz/acre in July andAugust.Harvest aids included an initial application of ethephon at 1 qt/acrewith 1.5 oz/acre Display on 15-October. Due to the freeze eventon 8-October, no additional harvest aids were required.Plots were harvested on 2-November using a commercial JohnDeere 7460 with field cleaner. Harvested material was transferredto a weigh wagon with integral electronic scales to record individualplot weights. Plot weights were subsequently converted to lb/acrebasis.Grab samples were taken by plot and ginned at the Texas A&MAgriLife Research and Extension Center at Lubbock to determinegin turnouts.Lint samples were submitted to the Texas Tech University – Fiberand Biopolymer Research Institute for HVI analysis, and USDACommodity Credit Corporation (CCC) loan values were determinedfor each variety by plot.Ginning cost were based on $3.00 per cwt. of bur cotton and seedvalue/acre was based on $250/ton. Ginning cost did not includecheck-off.Seed and technology costs were calculated using the appropriateseeding rate (3.8 seed/row-ft) for the 40-inch row spacing andentries using the online Plains Cotton Growers Seed CostComparison Worksheet available at:http://www.plainscotton.org/Seed/PCGseed12.xls .74
