They are spending their honeymoon intheir homeland, Sweden, and will be gone for about threeweeks. The little wreath and the little Christmaspictures are meant to bring you a bit of Christmas spiritand light. And I wish you a very beautiful and joyfulAdvent.When we awoke yesterday everything was white withsnow. Unfortunately this enchantment didn’t last toolong, instead it soon turned itself into quite a muddy mess.Did you celebrate All Souls’ Day last Sunday withthe students? And were there such beautiful wreathson the graves again this year? We had a little festivemeeting around Else von Hollander’s grave up in theburial ground. The burial ground is situated at almost the216
a d i c a l i s mhighest point of our property. It’s only now being properlylaid out. A wall of about half a meter high will bebuilt around it, using the large stones found in meadowsand fields around here. A belt of fir and birch trees will beplanted around the outside of the wall, and seven lindentrees inside it. A little clearing will be made in front ofthe burial ground. And around that is the spruce forest.Part of the work is already being done by volunteer workcamps.Last Sunday another little girl was born, a little Esther.She is the first sister for three brothers, who are verypleased about her. That means there will soon be eightlittle baskets in the baby room, six girls and two boys. Itlooks very cheerful.The print shop is also in the midst of intensive workright now. They’re printing postcards for Christmas withtexts taken from the second century, and then they’llprint flyers about the various books of our publishinghouse, mainly the ones that highlight the Quellen series.These flyers still have to be finished before Christmas sothat our books can still be advertised everywhere beforeChristmas.Will you also make the first of Advent a little bit festiveand Christmassy?
