The AsantéBridgeBridge Port A/Port B SelectorsDisplays graphic switches used to select one or the other bridgeport (A or B) for statistical performance monitoring. You select aport by clicking the switch (the default when the panel displayopens is with port B selected).Switch setting affects what AsantéView menu items are available:❏❏If either port is on, you can access the statistical performancemonitoring functions; these tools areapplied to the selected port onlyIf either port is on, you can access any of the bridgespanning tree control functionsSeg2/Seg1Sets which hub backplane segment Port A on the bridge is linkedto. There are some restrictions on how you can use these switches:❏❏❏Only Port A is controllable using these switches;Port B is controlled with a DIP switch located insidethe bridge.If Port B is linked to Segment 2, Port A is forced toSegment 1 and cannot be changed.If Port B is linked to the bridge external port, Port Acan be linked to Segment 1 or Segment 2; theswitches are active.Page 3-19
