You select aport by clicking the switch (the default when the panel displayopens is with port B selected).Switch setting affects what AsantéView menu items are available:❏❏If either port is on, you can access the statistical performancemonitoring functions; these tools areapplied to the selected port onlyIf either port is on, you can access any of the bridgespanning tree control functionsSeg2/Seg1Sets which hub backplane segment Port A on the bridge is linkedto. There are some restrictions on how you can use these switches:❏❏❏Only Port A is controllable using these switches;Port B is controlled with a DIP switch located insidethe bridge.If Port B is linked to Segment 2, Port A is forced toSegment 1 and cannot be changed.If Port B is linked to the bridge external port, Port Acan be linked to Segment 1 or Segment 2; theswitches are active.Page 3-19
