WWF has been campaigning for a bansince 2005. This was a huge achievement for wildlifeconservationists—it’s the first step to developingsustainable fisheries, and to allow the fish populationsand habitats to regenerate. For more information aboutSOS, please see the supplement accompanying this issue.世 界 海 洋 日World Oceans Day每 年 6 月 8 日 被 聯 合 國 訂 定 為 「 世 界 海 洋 日 」, 海 洋 不 單 為 我們 提 供 氧 氣 和 食 物 , 並 孕 育 著 無 數 生 物 。 世 界 各 地 有 不 少 人趁 這 機 會 去 慶 祝 海 洋 的 偉 大 , 本 會 亦 特 別 設 計 了 一 款 慶 祝 世界 海 洋 日 的 電 子 卡 供 大 家 免 費 下 載 , 呼 籲 大 家 繼 續 愛 護 海 洋 。不 同 款 式 的 電 子 卡 會 陸 續 推 出 , 請 密 切 留 意 。World Oceans Day took place on 8 June. Oceansprovide us with oxygen and food, and a home fora plethora of organisms. People from a number ofcountries celebrated marine conservation with differentevents. WWF created a special e-card for download, andcontinues to roll out new e-cards with different themes.可 持 續 海 鮮 午 餐 飯 盒 計 劃 圓 滿 結 束Sustainable Seafood School CateringProgramme ends on a high note為 期 兩 年 的 可 持 續 海 鮮 午 餐 飯 盒 計 劃 在 5 月 圓 滿 結 束 。 此 計 劃由 可 持 續 發 展 基 金 資 助 , 世 界 自 然 基 金 會 策 劃 , 旨 在 增 加 學生 的 環 保 意 識 , 培 養 他 們 對 可 持 續 海 鮮 的 觀 念 , 從 而 成 為 負責 任 的 消 費 者 。 為 了 達 成 這 目 標 , 過 去 兩 年 , 本 會 為 10 間 學校 的 教 職 員 、 學 生 及 其 餐 飲 供 應 商 舉 辦 了 多 個 培 訓 班 及 講 座( 包 括 在 海 下 灣 舉 行 潛 水 工 作 坊 了 解 海 洋 生 態 ), 令 他 們 更 了解 此 議 題 。The Sustainable Seafood School Catering Programme,sponsored by the Sustainable Development Fund, helda closing ceremony at the end of May. The two-yearprogramme aimed to increase students’ awarenessof marine conservation and to cultivate an interest in,and taste for, consuming only sustainable seafood. Toachieve this goal, various training workshops (includinga snorkelling workshop in Hoi Ha Wan) were conductedover the past two years so teachers and students from theten partnering schools and their lunch caterers could learnmore about this issue.米 埔 自 然 保 護 區 內黑 翅 長 腳 鷸 繁 殖 數 目 創 新 高Record numbers of breeding BlackwingedStilt at Mai Po Nature Reserve本 會 今 年 在 米 埔 自 然 保 護 區 內 錄 得 最 少 58 對 黑 翅 長 腳 鷸 繁 殖 ,這 是 歷 年 最 高 的 繁 殖 數 目 。 對 上 一 次 錄 得 的 最 高 繁 殖 數 目 為2007 年 共 有 31 對 , 今 年 的 數 目 差 不 多 是 2007 年 的 一 倍 。 黑 翅長 腳 鷸 於 2003 年 首 次 在 香 港 繁 殖 , 當 時有 六 對 黑 翅 長 腳 鷸 的 幼 鳥 成 功 在 米 埔自 然 保 護 區 成 長 。 此 後 每 年 愈 來 愈多 黑 翅 長 腳 鷸 在 保 護 區 繁 殖 , 而 米埔 自 然 保 護 區 亦 已 成 為 牠 們 的 固 定繁 殖 地 點 。At least 58 pairs of breedingBlack-winged stilt have been foundin Mai Po Nature Reserve this year. It isa new high count for Hong Kong, and is nearly double theprevious record of 31 pairs in 2007.
