TheCoral Triangle provides a considerable amountof seafood to the region at large, with the livereef food fish trade valued at US$810 million peryear. Half of Hong Kong’s imported live reef foodfish are from the region.The combination of the world’s populationgrowth resulting in the rising demand formarine products, and, destructive fishingmethods are the root causes for our concern.There is an over-exploitation of coral reefs.
