Industrial-Grade CompactFlash CardTRS Star SpecificationFor more information visit us under:http://www.trs-star.com5.1.8 Initialize Drive Parameters – 91hThe Initialize Drive Parameters command in Table 5.1.8 causes the card to set BSY, enter the Idle(Read) mode, clear BSY and generate an interrupt. This command enables the host to set the numberof sectors per track and the number of heads per cylinder. Only the Sector Count and theCard/Drive/Head registers are used by this command.Table 5.1.8 Initialize Drive ParametersCommand (7)Bit -> 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0C/D/H (6) X 0 X Drive Max Head (no. of heads -1)Cyl High (5)Cyl Low (4)Sec Num (2)See Cnt (1)Feature (1)91hXXXNumber of SectorsXNOTE:TRS* Tele-Radio-Space GmbH recommends NOT using this command in any systembecause DOS determines the offset to the Boot Record based on the number of heads andsectors per track. If a card is “Formatted” with one head and sector per track value, thesame card will not operate correctly with DOS configured with another heads and sectorsper track value.5.1.9 Read Buffer – E4hThe Read Buffer command in Table 5.1.9 enables the host to read the current contents of theCompactFlash Memory Card’s sector buffer. This command has the same protocol as the ReadSector(s) command.Table 5.1.9 Read BufferCommand (7)Bit -> 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0C/D/H (6) X Drive XCyl High (5)Cyl Low (4)Sec Num (2)See Cnt (1)Feature (1)E4hXXXXXTRS* Tele-Radio-Space GmbH, reserves the right Page 63 from 113 Industrial-Grade CompactFlash Cardto change products or specifications without notice.
