POR defaults the number of heads and sectors along with 16 bit data transfersand the read/write multiple block count.A host can choose the transfer mechanism by Set Transfer mode and specifying a value in the SectorCount register. The Sector Count Register is loadedwith the number of sectors per block. The current version of the card supports only a block size of 1sector per block. Future versions may support larger block sizes. If a block count is not supported, an Aborted Command error is posted, andRead Multiple and Write Multiple commands are disabled. If the Sector Count Register contains 0when the command is issued, Read and Write Multiple commands are disabled. At power on, or aftera hardware or (unless disabled by a Set Feature command) software reset, the default mode is Readand Write Multiple disabled.X5.1.20 Set Sleep Mode – 99h, E6hThe Set Sleep Mode command in Table 5.1.20 causes the card to set BSY, enter the Sleep mode,clear BSY and generate an interrupt. Recovery from sleep mode is accomplished by simply issuinganother command (a reset is permitted but not required). Sleep mode is also entered when internaltimers expire so the host does not need to issue this command except when it wishes to enter Sleepmode immediately. The default value for the read to sleep timer is 5 milliseconds.
