Catalog of Indicators Work/Labor 119 Name of indicator: Gender wage gap (unadjusted)Definition: The “gender wage gap” is measured as the difference between male's and female's earnings expressed the comparison of one to the other. The extent of the gap varies with the position of men and women taken as reference in the distribution of earnings. Description: The wage gap is one of the most important indicators to evaluate gender equality at work. It shows to what extend the female labor force has the same "recognition" at work as men.
