Catalog of Indicators Work/Labor 123 Name of indicator: Women's Financial Contribution to Household Expenditure Definition: It is the proportion of the contribution to household incomes done by women in relation to the whole composition of the family's incomes. Women's contribution includes goods and services, but the difficulty of measuring services (maintenance of the house and the family-­cleaning and caring) in monetary/financial terms obliges us to leave this part of the contribution uncovered. Description: The indicator makes visible the economic contribution that women's paid work provides to the family economy. Regrettably this indicator fails at measuring house and family related works.
