These will be available <strong>in</strong> the spr<strong>in</strong>g of2009 and <strong>in</strong>clude:✪ ✪ A Handbook for Practitioners to Support Gender-Sensitive Value Cha<strong>in</strong> Development presents an approachand process for address<strong>in</strong>g <strong>gender</strong> issues <strong>in</strong> the design, implementation, and monitor<strong>in</strong>g of value cha<strong>in</strong>development programs.✪ ✪ Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Materials on Gender and Value Cha<strong>in</strong> Development provides the presentations, exercises andresources used <strong>in</strong> the pilot tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong> Kenya and Tanzania.✪ ✪ A Methodology on Gender and Pro-Poor Value Cha<strong>in</strong> Analysis outl<strong>in</strong>es a process for conduct<strong>in</strong>g an economicanalysis of <strong>gender</strong> <strong>in</strong> value cha<strong>in</strong>s.✪✪ A Pro-Poor and Gender Analysis of the Shrimp Sector <strong>in</strong> Bangladesh and of the Artichoke Sector <strong>in</strong> Peru.ABOUT THE GREATER ACCESS TO TRADE EXPANSION (GATE)PROJECTThe GATE Project is a five-year (September 2004-September 2009) USAID Task Order (TO), funded by the Officeof Women <strong>in</strong> Development (WID) implemented by dTS. GATE works with seven USAID Missions to better <strong>in</strong>tegrate<strong>gender</strong> considerations <strong>in</strong>to economic growth and trade-related programs <strong>in</strong> order to help expand areas of opportunityand mitigate the adverse effects of economic and trade expansion for poor women and men.
