The yearly surveys the Board has done tell it thatthese settings and experiences strongly influence the lives of the children, youth, and adultswho participate. Camping and retreat ministry provides one of the most effective ways ofmaking disciples that the Annual Conference has established. Many of the members ofthe Annual Conference, and especially the clergy members, began their commitments asfollowers of Jesus Christ at a camping and retreat experience. The persons who participatein camp and retreat ministries return to their local churches to live out their Christianfaith.2007 was a positive year for the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries and its ministry.Another wing on the Bishop Sharon Rader Retreat Center was completed, leaving onlyone to finish. The completion of the wing helps the Center accommodate larger groupsfor retreats and meetings. The Board is moving in the direction of providing more space,Reports of Boards and Agencies207
