<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>Co n f e r e n c e Pe r s o n n e l Co m m i t t e eIntroductory CommentsThe <strong>Conference</strong> Personnel Committee is responsible for establishing and implementingpolicies and procedures, salary scales and criteria for all <strong>Conference</strong> staff positions. TheCommittee provides oversight and delegation of the search process, employment andsupervision of most conference staff positions other than District Superintendents. Thecommittee works in consultation with the Bishop (for those positions she supervises),and with appropriate program and administrative groups during the search process, andprovides general oversight and coordination for those positions.Highlights and AccomplishmentsThe Personnel Committee met twice during 2007 and held three conference phone calls.The following transitions took place this year:Jane Follmer Zekoff, Director of Ministry and Outreach, was appointed to SabbaticalLeave, effective July 1, 2007.Sue D’Alessio was appointed to the position of Interim Director of Ministry and Outreach,effective July 1, 2007.Becky Halstead (formerly Berghammer) resigned March 9, 2007. Kimberly Rowe washired as administrative assistant in the Camp and Retreat Ministries Office, effectiveMay 1, 2007.Laura Rodriguez resigned August 24, 2007. An employee of a temporary services agencyhas filled the part-time position of Finance Office Assistant since that time.We are grateful to these individuals for their years of service and their leadership in the lifeof the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.The committee provided oversight to and support for the staff of the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Annual<strong>Conference</strong> as staff addressed multiple responsibilities directly and indirectly affectingministry and mission, including but not limited to: local congregation and circuit ministrydevelopment through teaching, resourcing, preaching and hands on training of lay andclergy leadership in various ministry areas; Christian growth/leadership developmentthrough multiple camping experiences; missions interpretation and direct involvement inmissions; addressing the need for comprehensive avenues of communication in all areas ofcircuit/congregation and annual conference life.The committee provided oversight and support to insure there is appropriate and sufficientstaff to do the work of ministry and to coordinate lay/clergy leadership in its work throughvarious boards and agencies.The Committee developed a charter to clarify our primary role/responsibilities and guideour work.Plans for the Coming YearThe committee will work to support the mission of the Annual <strong>Conference</strong> and its strategicplanning process in its development of appropriate staffing configurations and positionsthat will create and sustain healthy relationships and build vital, productive environmentsReports of Boards and Agencies231
