<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>which affect women; to focus on major priorities of issues related to women; to advise theGeneral Commission about the progress and effectiveness of its efforts; and to participate inconnectional programs and plans initiated or recommended by the General Commission.Highlights and Accomplishments of the Past Year:• Monitoring for inclusiveness during the 2007 Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.• Presenting a report to the 2007 Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.• Provide an informational display table at Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.• Presenting the Bridge Builder Awards to Martha and Frank Kuhlman and KadyHerr Yang.• Helping to provide “The Flyer,” the COSROW <strong>pub</strong>lication, to leadership withinthe <strong>Conference</strong>.Plans for the Coming Year:• To monitor for inclusiveness at the <strong>2008</strong> Annual <strong>Conference</strong>, as well aspresenting a report to the Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.• Present the <strong>2008</strong> Bridge Builder Awards to those who are felt to continuallybuild up the role of women in the <strong>Conference</strong>.• Attempt to expand the role of the Commission’s monitoring to include the localchurches to help make them aware of the role women play at that level.• Continue to make “The Flyer” available to <strong>Conference</strong> leaders.• Update our website to help expand COSROW’s visibility within the <strong>Conference</strong>.Debra Ivanoff-Hastings, Co-ChairpersonCo m m u n i c at i o n s a n d In f o r m at i o n Te c h n o l o g yThe purpose of the Communications and Technology Committee is to advise andprovide support for the Communications and Technical Services Office, whose primaryresponsibilities are to:• Project, plan, and provide maintenance for the <strong>Conference</strong>’s multi-levelcommunications network for the exchange of news, information, ideas, stories,shared joys and concerns among <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>United</strong> Methodists.• Project, plan, and provide technical support in conjunction with other conferenceagencies/boards/committees for our Annual <strong>Conference</strong> sessions and other<strong>Conference</strong> events, and integration of communication resources throughout theAnnual <strong>Conference</strong>.• Project, plan, and provide on-going information technology training opportunitiesfor local churches/Circuits/Districts/Regions/<strong>Conference</strong> agencies and staff.• Provide a primary point of access to <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>United</strong> Methodists forpersons/agencies on the General <strong>Conference</strong> level for the sharing of news andinformation.• Provide a primary point of access to the workings of the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong>UMC for secular news media.• Provide multiple avenues of outreach to the wider <strong>Wisconsin</strong> community.Reports of Boards and Agencies227
