<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>33) Evergreen hosted visits by Senator Herb Kohl and Representative Thomas Petri whospoke with residents about long term care.34) Evergreen donated linens to local non-profit organizations and to organizationsoverseas.35) The Pandemic Team continued work on planning for Evergreen’s response in case ofa critical epidemic outbreak.36) A new staff program for a Drug-Free Workplace was implemented in early 2007.37) Evergreen’s annual employee turnover in 2007 was 17.7% compared to 18.6% in 2006.Evergreen also compared very favorably with the state averages for part-time nursing staff.Evergreen RN turnover was 20% in 2007 compared to the state average of 43%. EvergreenLPN turnover was 11.1% compared to the state average of 54%. And Certified NursingAssistant turnover at Evergreen was 26.6% in 2007 compared to a state average of 80%.Plans for <strong>2008</strong>1) Hospice care at Evergreen will be expanded.2) Development of the Continuing Care at Home business will continue throughout <strong>2008</strong>with implementation scheduled for early 2009.3) A new transportation program will be launched at Evergreen in <strong>2008</strong>.4) Gaming will be introduced to residents in <strong>2008</strong> with the addition of a Wii gamesystem.5) Monthly Art Gallery Walks at Evergreen are being planned with displays by guestartists.6) Accommodation remodeling will continue with the focus on updating the ManorApartments with a new open design.7) Plans will continue and fundraising will begin for the Manor Dining Room remodelingproject.8) Evergreen will discontinue the operation of facility-wide laundry services and contractwith a company to outsource all linens. Personal laundry will be done by staff in eachliving option.9) Evergreen’s SAFE Team will complete work on a new door system and name badgesto enhance security.10) Evergreen will write an application for the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Forward Award during <strong>2008</strong>.11) Evergreen and Learning in Retirement will discuss sharing a new paid position dedicatedto assisting LIR members to experience new, exciting and unusual opportunities.276 Reports of Boards and Agencies
