<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>Developing Leaders for the ChurchNew Visions, the college’s music ministry touring company, led worship celebrations ineight churches. The Summer New Visions Company, composed of five students, directedweeklong programs in four churches and led four weeks of camping programs. Fivestudents brought Vacation Bible School programs to eight local churches through the NewBeginnings program. These teams provided weeklong programs for 1000 children andyouth. Two NCC students from <strong>Wisconsin</strong> attended the 2007 <strong>United</strong> Methodist StudentForum at the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington.Relationship to the <strong>Conference</strong>We affirm our affiliation with the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> and request continued support bysending us your students and financial support for scholarship aid.Harold R. We are grateful to God for the privilegesof equipping faithful leadership for the Church, leading in reflection on Wesleyan theology,and assisting the Church in making disciples of all nations! We seek the Holy Spirit’sleading so that we may do our part in the renewal of the Church for the mission of JesusChrist in the world!Here are some current highlights from <strong>United</strong> Theological Seminary:1. A new Master of Divinity degree Concentration in Church Renewal!2. A continuing, central role for orthodox Christian doctrine and deep grounding inthe study of the Bible.3. An emphasis upon the world as our context for theological education, includingthe Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.4. New initiatives in Distance Learning to serve the underserved—including fivenew online courses in the fall of <strong>2008</strong>!5. Growing partnerships with African American church leaders and institutions.6. New partnerships with other schools, judicatories, agencies and congregations!7.
