<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>For <strong>2008</strong>, the Committee has 5 goals/strategies with anticipated results to fulfill ourmission:Goal 1: We will train 30 Lay Missioners and Pastor Mentors by offering a bi-lingualModule I & II training sessions. We anticipate that each Lay Missioner in cooperationwith the Pastor Mentor will develop a plan for a new Faith Community and implement theplan.Goal 2: We will launch 10 New Faith Communities through a dialogue with Circuits andEnglish-speaking congregations in areas of significant Hispanic population. We anticipatethat Circuits and English-speaking congregations will send Lay Missioners to our bi-lingualModule I & II training sessions.Goal 3: We will form 5 Community Ministries through dialogue with Circuits and Englishspeakingcongregations in areas of significant Hispanic population with high stressconditions. We anticipate that Circuits and English-speaking congregations will send LayMissioners to bi-lingual Module I & II training sessions.Goal 4: We will assist 6 congregations for Mobilization (Re-visioning) by using theCongregational Mobilization training by the National Plan for Hispanic Ministry. Weanticipate stronger, more vital congregations.Goal 5: We will develop a Comprehensive Plan. We scheduled a meeting with Rev. NoraMartinez, our National Plan Consultant, in February <strong>2008</strong> to update our new ComprehensivePlan for 2009-2012.In 2009, the CHLM Committee will keep in mind the <strong>Conference</strong> vision and the threeemerging areas of strategic needs of 1) the development of positive, healthy relationships;2) the importance of creating vital and productive congregational and circuit environments;and 3) the need for accountability for individuals, congregations, and circuits to grow inChristian discipleship. We have 5 goals for 2009.Goal 1: We will train an additional 30 Lay Missioners and Pastor/Mentors. (HealthyRelationships: By recruiting lay missioners, training them along with a Pastor/Mentor, andconnecting them to new Faith Communities or existing Hispanic/Latino ministries.)Goal 2: We will launch an additional 10 new Faith Communities. (Healthy Relationships:By providing resources for circuits and congregations in areas of significant potentialto develop plans for launching new Hispanic ministries and advocating for new FaithCommunities within existing <strong>United</strong> Methodist Churches to develop positive, healthyrelationships with their Hispanic/Latino neighbors.)Goal 3: We will form an additional 5 Community Ministries. (Healthy Relationships:By providing resources for circuits and congregations in areas of significant potential todevelop plans for launching new Hispanic community ministries and advocating for newCommunity Ministries alongside existing <strong>United</strong> Methodist Churches to develop positive,healthy relationships with their Hispanic/Latino neighbors.)Goal 4: We will assist 6 congregations for Mobilization (Re-visioning). (ProductiveCongregations: By providing training and resources for chartered Hispanic congregationsin areas of significant potential to develop plans for becoming stronger and more stable intheir ministries and holding one another accountable to their mobilization plan and developpositive, healthy relationships with their Hispanic/Latino neighbors.)Reports of Boards and Agencies235
