<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>Expansion:1) Evergreen Innovations Network (EIN) was launched in early 2007 as a new businessventure focused on helping other organizations find real business solutions througheducation, research and consultation. Traci Raether, Evergreen’s Vice President Quality andOrganization Development, heads EIN and conducted several local educational sessionson team building, nursing leadership and process improvement. She traveled to Ohio andTexas to provide consulting services and presentations on culture change implementationto other long-term care organizations. The EIN website at www.eInnov.net allows customersto register for seminars on-line.2) Evergreen Innovations Network hosted a display at the American Association ofHomes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) convention in Orlando in the fall of 2007.Evergreen staff members who were attending the convention assisted.3) During 2007 Evergreen began plans to develop a new business model - Continuing Careat Home.4) Evergreen hosted a community summit in 2007 which brought together over 100community members to discuss issues related to aging and disabilities.Niche markets:5) Evergreen’s Post Surgical and Rehab Center at Manor View focuses on developingrelationships with area hospitals to promote services and therapies for short-term residents.Remodeling of the area began in 2007 with finishing touches completed in early <strong>2008</strong>. Allresident rooms now have personal telephones and televisions.6) During 2007 Evergreen began a partnership with Aurora VNA to provide hospice servicesto patients and families. Evergreen Health Center nurses received special advanced end-oflifetraining to become better equipped to care for hospice residents. Training focused onsymptom management and pain management.7) Evergreen continues to promote lifelong learning through corporate participation inthe Learning in Retirement (LIR) program for seniors in the Oshkosh area. Evergreenhosted eleven LIR sessions in 2007. Total attendance exceeded 1,000 people. In addition,Evergreen offered weekly aquatic classes for LIR members and Dining Services cateredthe LIR 10th Anniversary picnic.8) Evergreen converted an old therapy room into a lapidary room for use by the OshkoshEarth Science Club and Evergreen residents. The Club moved their equipment to Evergreenand now residents are able to conveniently enjoy the hobby. The group works with rocks,stones, gems and minerals.9) Evergreen hosted seven educational presentations for residents and the general <strong>pub</strong>licin 2007. Topics included preventative care for healthy living, fraud and identity theft,advanced directives, Alzheimer’s and memory care.10) A new Message Therapy Room was created at Evergreen in 2007. The room offers acalm, peaceful environment where customers can relax under the skillful hands of trainedprofessionals.Reports of Boards and Agencies273
