<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>We funded Local, Jurisdictional and National Training and Meetings:• We assisted with funding for attendance at the Hispanic MARCHA meeting.• We assisted with funding for attendance at the Racial-Ethnic ClergyConsultation.For <strong>2008</strong>, the ELCC Committee has 4 goals:Goal 1: To provide training for Summer Developers in April <strong>2008</strong>.Goal 2: To fund up to twelve (12) Summer Developers in Ethnic Local Churches.Goal 3: To plan a retreat for the Racial-Ethnic Clergy and Lay Leadership in fall,<strong>2008</strong>.Goal 4: To distribute funds for leadership development opportunities and forattendance at Jurisdictional/National Meetings and <strong>Conference</strong>s.In 2009, the ELCC will keep in mind the <strong>Conference</strong> vision and the three emerging areas ofstrategic needs of 1) the development of positive, healthy relationships; 2) the importanceof creating vital and productive congregational and circuit environments; and 3) theneed for accountability for individuals, congregations, and circuits to grow in Christiandiscipleship. We have 3 goals for 2009:Goal 1: To launch a National Urban Academy in the Metro Region for a minimumof 20 churches. This would relate to developing healthy relationships and a healthyenvironment for fruitful congregations in the urban setting.Goal 2: To strengthen and continue the Summer Developer program. This wouldrelate to the need for accountability for the summer developers.Goal 3: To continue to support and work with the Racial-Ethnic National Plans in theComprehensive Plans of the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong>. This would relate to the need foraccountability in the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Annual <strong>Conference</strong>.Who is going to benefit from your agency’s planned work in <strong>2008</strong>/9?• The Ethnic Local Churches, all Ethnic Caucuses, New Ethnic Ministries willbenefit.• New Ethnic leadership and ministries in the conference.• Circuits that work together to form new ethnic ministries.• Everybody benefits: the Annual <strong>Conference</strong> as a whole.Submitted by Ric OlsonReports of Boards and Agencies233
