The home issituated in a historic district of central Sheboygan, overlooking Lake Michigan.The organization is certified for Medicare and Medicaid and is a participant in theCommunity Options Program.The Landmark Square condominium project is slated to open on May 1, <strong>2008</strong>. After thearson fire of 3/19/07, the project was delayed a full year. However the units have remainedat a steady sales level and the Community is looking forward to finally greeting their newresidents to their new homes.The home continues to provide a significant amount of charity care in all areas of itoperation, providing subsidies to residents in need while also subsidizing shortfalls in theMedical Assistance program. It is estimated that for the current fiscal year the Medicaidshortfalls will near $500,000Another significant change is the development of the Beach Rehabilitation Unit. Locatedwithin the confines of the Beach Health Center, this unit of 17 all private rooms will provideintensive post surgical and rehabilitation services to a broad spectrum of clients. The unitis complete and functioning as planned. The Beach Rehab staff recently renovated anadditional portion of the therapy area to include a private treatment room, Speech Therapyquiet room and a training kitchen for those returning home.The Beacon Suites memory care unit was expanded to include an additional floor of suitesand the home hopes to begin renovation of the existing CBRF Assisted Living units onceLandmark is finally up and runningFinally, the home expects to be a significant provider in the Family Care program alongwith additional expansion into the areas of managed care.Michael Basch, Executive Director278 Reports of Boards and Agencies
