<strong>2008</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>a focus on healthy living as persons will be encouraged to participate in a Procheck HealthScreening.In the midst of much worship and celebration there will also be a great deal of businessbefore the Annual <strong>Conference</strong> as the members consider the action items that will bepresented from various committees, churches, and individuals. It is the continued prayerof the Program and Arrangements Committee that the members of Annual <strong>Conference</strong> maycome together June 8-11 as neighbors in Christ to share our stories and journeys with eachother.Amy Jameson Yackovich, ChairpersonVision a n d Qu a l i t y Im p r o v e m e n t Te a mThe Vision and Quality Improvement Team (VQIT) meets at least annually under theleadership of the Bishop. VQIT is charged with the responsibility of offering generaloversight for how the various components of the Annual <strong>Conference</strong> align with the widervision and purpose of the Annual <strong>Conference</strong>. VQIT reviewed the work of the StrategicPlanning Task Force, and agreed with the identified key focus areas that are critical forsuccessful improving of the life and ministry together in the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> <strong>Conference</strong>. Thesekey areas are:• Developing quality relationships;• Creating healthy congregational and circuit environments;• Leadership development (training, equipping, and supporting clergy and laityleadership);• Effective communication;• Discernment and development of vision for mission and ministry;• The need for accountability for individuals, congregations and circuits to grow inChristian discipleship.The leadership of the Annual <strong>Conference</strong> believes the place to focus first, for thegreatest effect, is in helping congregations, circuits, and congregational leaders createand sustain healthy, quality Christian relationships. We are committed to putting ouremphasis here at this time.<strong>Conference</strong> leaders, at all levels of responsibility, are energized and organized to work withcircuit and congregational leaders to envision how to best fulfill our mission: Live, Give,Love – Beyond All Expectation.The Vision Quality Improvement Team evaluated each of the Plans for Ministry submittedfor consideration in the <strong>Conference</strong> budget process. Recommendations were made basedon how the plans aligned with the foci which emerged as a result of the strategic planningprocess.
