2008 Wisconsin Conference JournalBob WeldBob Weld, of Hertel, Wisconsin passed away on May 13, 2007 at theage of 91. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 3,1915.From 1975 to 2000 Bob was a lay member of Annual Conference fromLakeview United Methodist Church. He also served on several differentconference boards and committees. Bob served the local church andwas a member of the Administrative Council. He lived a life that reflectedhis faith in his Lord.Mr. Weld was a proud World War II Veteran, a Nabisco salesman andon the University of Minnesota Gopher’s football team that won a national championship inthe 1930s. He owned a Christmas tree farm and provided many trees to the community freeof charge. He also quietly filled the needs of others as he saw them. His activities includedinvesting, providing for his family and others, and he was always reading and learning. Hislove of nature was clear and he enjoyed photography and telling stories.He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, and daughter, Mary Liz. He is survived by hischildren Susan, Nanci, Ann, Judy, Jill and Paul.296 Memoirs
