Pan zerdi vis ionsstabembarked from Hamburg on March 5 for Oslo, where it was brought<strong>to</strong> full division strength with 4,000 new recruits. The division wasinvolved in training and occup<strong>at</strong>ion duties, but also <strong>to</strong>ok part inthe oper<strong>at</strong>ion against Norwegian partisans who <strong>at</strong>tacked the heavyw<strong>at</strong>er plant <strong>at</strong> Rjukan on February 28, 194-3. In l<strong>at</strong>e August 194-3,the division sailed from Oslo <strong>to</strong> Copenhagen, where it particip<strong>at</strong>edin the oper<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>to</strong> disarm the Danish Army on August 28, 194-3.Moved <strong>to</strong> France in September 194-3, in Oc<strong>to</strong>ber it was reassigned <strong>to</strong>defensive positions on the eastern front, southwest of Kiev.ItemAlthough there are no <strong>records</strong> of the division available d<strong>at</strong>ed l<strong>at</strong>erthan November 10, 194-3, the situ<strong>at</strong>ion maps of Lage Ost show th<strong>at</strong>this division particip<strong>at</strong>ed in:6per<strong>at</strong>ion& in the Fas<strong>to</strong>v, Berdichev,Vinnitsa, Proskurov, Chortkov,'and Stanislav areas from December194-3 <strong>to</strong> April 194-4-, suffering such heavy losses during its withdrawalacross the northern Ukraine in March 1944, th<strong>at</strong> it was moved <strong>to</strong>Denmark in May for rehabilit<strong>at</strong>ion. Returned <strong>to</strong> the Pultusk area,Poland, in September 194-4-, the 25. Panzer-Division, which was scheduled <strong>to</strong> move <strong>to</strong> the eastern front in the beginningof Oct 194-3; and the movement of the division on Oct 29, 194-3, <strong>to</strong> the southernsec<strong>to</strong>r of the eastern front in the Berdichev, Kaz<strong>at</strong>in, Fas<strong>to</strong>v, and BelayaTserkov areas <strong>to</strong> take part in the oper<strong>at</strong>ions southwest of Kiev.
