AbsoodAbstract:Objective To determine the etiological factors associated with infertility among UAEwomen and to explore the role and success of IVF treatment.Method A total 161 women referred to Tawam Hospital by retrospective analysis ofcase files.Results The major etiological factor of infertility was unexplained infertility in 47.2% ofcases, the second major etiological factor was tubal blockage in 7.5% of cases. Themajority of women were between 21-40 years and women who became pregnantwithout treatment accounted for 39.3% of total women from that group. The successrate of IVF treatment is 22.9%, which is comparable with famous centers around theworld.Recommendation Unexplained infertility should not be taken as a fixed diagnosis andthere should be an underlying cause, because some of women got pregnant withoutany medication.
