LOGON <strong>Command</strong>LOGON command syntaxv It displays help information for all logon parameters whenever you can enterUSERID, PASSWORD, or RACF password. Help information is displayed for theentry being prompted for and in all cases, except for the PASSWORD entryfields, displays the user entered data as well.Note: If your terminal uses VTAM, you might be required to use a format differentfrom the one described here. Your system programmer should provide youwith this information.When the LOGON command is executed in the background, the system ignoresany remaining commands in the input stream and it has no effect on yourforeground <strong>TSO</strong>/E session, if you have one.►► LOGON user_identity/password/new_passwordACCT(account)►►PROC(procedure_name)SIZE(integer)NOTICESNONOTICESMAILNOMAIL►►PERFORM(value)RECONNECTNORECONNECTSECLABEL(security_label)►►GROUP(name)OIDCARD►◄LOGON command operandsuser_identity/password/new_passwordspecifies your user identification and, if required, a valid password or newpassword. Your user identification must be separated from the password by aslash (/) and, optionally, one or more standard delimiters (tab, blank, orcomma). Your identification and password must match the identificationcontained in the system’s user attribute data set (UADS), if you are notRACF-defined. If you are RACF-defined, you must enter the password definedin the RACF data set as the value for password. The new password specifiesthe password that is to replace the current password. new_password must beseparated from password by a slash(/) and, optionally, one or more standarddelimiters (tab, blank, or comma). new_password is 1 to 8 alphanumericcharacters long. This operand is ignored for non-RACF defined users. (Printingis suppressed for some types of terminals when you respond to a prompt for apassword.)With z/<strong>OS</strong> V1R7 or later, the password and new_password can be in mixedcase, if your installation has enabled RACF mixed case password support.ACCT(account)specifies the account number required by your installation.
