• As the central academic library of the
Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden,
the Kunstbibliothek endeavours to enable
interested visitors from among the general
public to access its holdings. This is
done, among other things, by providing a
Web-Opac, which permits the user to conduct
both internal and external research.
The Web-Opac currently contains nearly
155,000 entries and ranks top among all
the specialist academic libraries in Saxony.
The quality of the library’s holdings is evident
from the fact that approximately 1/3
of the books are not available in any other
library in the South-West German Library
Alliance.
