NAVSUPINST <strong>4200.94</strong>29 June 1999CHAPTER 3ACCOMMODATION CHECKS1. Scope. This chapter provides guidance on the establishmentand use of accommodation check accounts.2. Definitionsa. Accommodation Checks. An alternative to cash, thirdparty drafts and U.S. Treasury checks to be used in instanceswhere the use of the purchase card is impracticable.b. Accommodation Check Cashier. The person authorized tosign and issue accommodation checks on behalf of thecommand/activity.c. Accommodation Check Custodian. The person authorized toorder, receive, store, issue, inventory, reconcile and disposeof accommodation check stock.3. Policya. Establishing Accommodation Check Accounts(1) Prior to establishing an accommodation checkaccount, the command/activity must have an active purchase cardprogram in place.(2) Requests must be justified in writing and approvedby the commander/director of the installation or tenantactivity.(3) A MasterCard Account Set-up Request must accompanythe activity request.
