It is difficult to serve these householdsusing only the housing tax credit program, which is currently the largest rental productionprogram in the state. As a result, the demand for federal rent subsidies far exceeds thesupply. These programsinclude HUD (Section 8 Project-based, Housing Choice Voucher, 811 Program, 202Program, 236 Program), Rural Development rental assistance programs, Low IncomeHousing Tax Credit Program, Community Capital Assistance Program (The OhioDepartment of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD)).Unmet Housing Needs:• To assist in the gathering of information Ribbon Demographic (Census Data), US CensusData, Out of Reach report (National Low Income Housing Coalition), Access to HousingWorkgroup Disability data report, Public Housing Authority waiting list data was used. These reports will help determine the amount of households/individuals in the State ofOhio that would need rental assistance. This information will be compared to the datacollected in the “Met Housing Need” section to give a clear picture of the gap in Ohio.78
