Section 2.05-2SubdivisionPublic Street Design <strong>and</strong> Improvements, Major1. Circulation System DesignThe street system shall be <strong>design</strong>ed to permit the safe, efficient, <strong>and</strong>orderly movement of traffic; to have a simple <strong>and</strong> logical pattern; torespect natural features <strong>and</strong> topography; to present an attractivestreetscape.2. Layout <strong>and</strong> AlignmentProposed streets shall be coordinated with the street system in thesurrounding area <strong>and</strong> where possible shall provide for thecontinuation of existing streets abutting the <strong>development</strong>. Saidstreets shall be extended at the same or greater width, but shall benot less than the minimum required width.3. Cul-de-sacsc. Dead-end streets shall not exceed 2,000 feet in lengthmeasured from the nearest residential street intersection. Culde-sacstreets may be allowed to extend beyond, 2000 feet,but may serve no more than 40 lots.d. Turnarounds shall be provided at the closed end of a street.The developer may choose from one of the alternativesillustrated on the following page, or a modification thereof,approved by the review officer. Temporary dead-end streets orstreets serving four, but not more than eight lots, may beprovided with a modified turn-around as depicted in theAlternative Cul-De-Sac Design Illustrations.2-54
