Section 2.05-9Survey <strong>and</strong> MarkingsAll l<strong>and</strong> subdivisions within the jurisdiction of this Ordinance shall besurveyed, platted, <strong>and</strong> marked in accord with the Minimum St<strong>and</strong>ards Manual forthe Practice of L<strong>and</strong> Surveying in South Carolina, as promulgated by the Code ofLaws of South Carolina, 1976, Title 40, Chapter 21. This Manual is herebyadopted by reference <strong>and</strong> is as much a part of this Ordinance as if containedherein.Section 2.05-10 Fire HydrantsFire hydrants shall be installed <strong>and</strong> spaced throughout each subdivision toensure that all residences are within 1,000 ft. of hydrants, where public water <strong>and</strong>adequate fire flows are available. (Amended 06/18/2001)Section 2.06 Conservation SubdivisionsSection 2.06-1PurposeThe purpose of this Section is to promote <strong>development</strong> <strong>and</strong> subdivisionpractices which preserve <strong>and</strong> protect natural resources, sensitive areas <strong>and</strong> openspace, encourage the retention of agricultural pursuits, <strong>and</strong> balance theenvironment, providing for both rural <strong>and</strong> urban lifestyles.Section 2.06-2LocationConservation subdivisions are allowed county wide as an alternative toconventional subdivisions, but are especially encouraged in the areas <strong>design</strong>atedRural <strong>and</strong> Rural Residential on the <strong>County</strong>'s L<strong>and</strong> Use Plan Map, contained inthe Comprehensive Plan. (Amended 07/19/2004)Section 2.06-3IncentiveAs an incentive to develop conservation subdivisions in the <strong>design</strong>ated Rural<strong>and</strong> Rural Residential areas (only), the subdivision requirements of Section 2.05, <strong>and</strong>the dimensional requirements of Table 3 are hereby waived in exchange for the<strong>development</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of Section 2.06-4 through 2.06-6.As an incentive to develop conservation subdivisions within any <strong>design</strong>atedl<strong>and</strong> use other than Rural <strong>and</strong> Rural Residential, the subdivision requirements ofSection 2.05, <strong>and</strong> the dimensional requirements of Table 3 are hereby waived inexchange for the <strong>development</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards of Section 2.06-4 through 2.06-6, exceptthat any streets contained in the conservation subdivision must be built to <strong>County</strong>road st<strong>and</strong>ards in Section 2.05-2.
