Section 2.05-6Water Supply1. DHEC Approval RequiredAll subdivisions shall be provided with water supplies <strong>and</strong> systemsconforming to the requirements, rules, <strong>and</strong> policies of the SouthCarolina Department of Health <strong>and</strong> Environmental Control (DHEC),<strong>and</strong> approved by said agency.2. System RequirementsThe water supply system shall be adequate to h<strong>and</strong>le domesticdem<strong>and</strong> including fire flow, based on complete <strong>development</strong>.Section 2.05-7Sanitary Sewerage Facilities1. DHEC Approval RequiredAll subdivisions shall be provided with septic tanks or sanitarysewerage facilities conforming to requirements, rules, <strong>and</strong> policies ofthe South Carolina Department of Health <strong>and</strong> Environmental Control(DHEC), <strong>and</strong> approved by said agency. Said facilities shall be"stubbed out" prior to road surfacing.2. System RequirementsThe sanitary sewer system shall be adequate to h<strong>and</strong>le thenecessary flow based on complete <strong>development</strong>.Section 2.05-8Storm DrainageStorm drainage materials <strong>and</strong> installation must conform to the <strong>Spartanburg</strong><strong>County</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ard Specifications for Construction of Roads. Pipe sizes will bedetermined using Manning’s Equation. Runoff shall be determined using a 10-year rainfall return frequency for areas less than 10 acres. A 25-year returnfrequency shall be used for areas of 10 acres <strong>and</strong> more. All culverts, to beplaced beneath streets, must be <strong>design</strong>ed to pass the peak rate runoff of at leasta 25-year rainfall return frequency. All storm drainage <strong>design</strong> must also conformto the Storm Water Management <strong>and</strong> Sediment Reduction Regulations,Ordinance #497 [This ordinance has been replaced by the Storm Water ManagementOrdinance of <strong>Spartanburg</strong> <strong>County</strong> (No. O-09-02). (See also <strong>County</strong> Code Chapter 30,Article IV.)] The <strong>Spartanburg</strong> <strong>County</strong> Storm Water Management Design Manualmay be used as a guide.
