4Chapter 4.Securing Web componentsThis chapter will discuss the security settings for Web components of the Webapplications.Web components such as static HTML pages, JSPs and servlets can be securedeither by the HTTP server or by <strong>WebSphere</strong>.In Section 4.1, “Static components” on page 38 we will discuss how to use the<strong>IBM</strong> HTTP Server mechanisms and settings to provide authentication andauthorization for static pages.In Section 4.2, “Web module security” on page 46 and following sections we willshow how to secure static components belonging to <strong>WebSphere</strong> ApplicationServer.
