You can choose an item from themenu by pressing the associated highlighted capital letter (for example, E for Edit)or by moving the highlighted bar with the left and right arrow keys to the desiredoption and pressing Enter. (Note that the highlighted letters of each option on thescreen are expressed as boldface in the text.)Experiment for a minute. Choose the File command. A series of options relatedto files "pulls down." To choose one of these options, again, press the first letter ofthe option or use the up and down arrows to set the highlighted bar and pressEnter. To return to the options available from the main menu, press Esc, which takesyou back to the main menu. No matter where you are in <strong>Turbo</strong> <strong>Basic</strong>, pressing Esc afew times will get you back to the main menu. (For more information, see thesection in Chapter 3 entitled "The Main Menu.")Note that the help line at the bottom of the screen changes according to whereyou are in the menu system; look here first if you get stuck - it may be all the helpyou need. If you need additional help, press Fl.Some of the items on the main menu have no other options than the one displayed.For example, Compile simply compiles your loaded file; it has neither apull-down menu nor a pop-up menu.
