For example, commercial properties are generally considered less sensitive than privateresidences. The site is in an area of low-moderate sensitivity given the distance of residential receivers whoface the rail corridor and proposed monopole. There is vegetation screening the railway from residents,however, the top of the monopole may be visible from some locations.The visual magnitude of the proposal is derived from its scale and the level of visual contrast between theproposed facility and the existing visual environment. The new steel monopole will be 20 metres high and will beclose to existing overheard wires and power poles that have a similar visual appearance. The monopole is not abulky structure and will not be a dominant part of the visual landscape. As such, the visual magnitude for theproposal is considered low.Visual impact is generally determined by reference to both visual sensitivity and visual magnitude. Variouscombinations of visual sensitivity and visual magnitude produce low, moderate and high levels of impact. Forthis facility the overall impact is considered low-moderate.Page 41 of 67
