If a calculatedsalary exceeds <strong>the</strong> range/scale, <strong>the</strong> salary offer should be at <strong>the</strong> maximum point of <strong>the</strong>range/scale.(b) in salary scales, a staff’s salary should be at a point within <strong>the</strong> salary scale. If a calculatedsalary does not have a corresponding point on <strong>the</strong> scale, <strong>the</strong> nearest higher salary point willbe used.14. For staff who are re-employed on part-time bas<strong>is</strong>, <strong>the</strong>ir salaries shall be pro-ratedaccordingly.15. For staff who are re-employed <strong>to</strong> conduct CET Training and/or Part-Time Teaching,<strong>the</strong>y will be re-employed under a new Polytechnic Academic Associate scheme wherea minimum remuneration package of $30,000 per annum would be offered. Based onprevailing rate of $70 per hour, th<strong>is</strong> works out <strong>to</strong> be a minimum training/teaching loadof 428 hours per annum. The actual allocation of teaching/training hours will besubject <strong>to</strong> mutual agreement between <strong>the</strong> staff and NP at <strong>the</strong> point of offer of reemployment.One possible allocation of th<strong>is</strong> teaching/training load would be for a staff<strong>to</strong> be assigned 14 hours of teaching load over <strong>the</strong> 30 teaching weeks. Th<strong>is</strong> minimumpackage serves as a base package. Should <strong>the</strong> actual training/teaching load exceed428 hours per year, <strong>the</strong> pay package would be adjusted accordingly.
