ScopePOLYTECHNIC ACADEMIC LEAVE SCHEME 2008 (MODIFIED)Th<strong>is</strong> Scheme applies <strong>to</strong> all Academic Staff who opted for <strong>the</strong> Polytechnic AcademicExecutive (PAX) scheme which was implemented on 1 November 2008.2. Vacation LeaveAn officer under th<strong>is</strong> Scheme shall be granted vacation leave of 28 working days percalendar year or <strong>the</strong> proportionate amount if <strong>the</strong> period of service in any calendar year<strong>is</strong> less than 12 months.3. Accumulated LeaveLeave of up <strong>to</strong> one year’s eligibility may be carried forward <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> following year. At<strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> second year, th<strong>is</strong> leave cannot be deferred fur<strong>the</strong>r and will be forfeited,if left unconsumed.4. Medical LeaveAn officer may be given full-pay sick leave for <strong>the</strong> period shown in a medical certificateup <strong>to</strong> a <strong>to</strong>tal of -(a) 30 days in a calendar year; or(b) 60 days if he has <strong>to</strong> be warded in a hospital.5.
