Staff who are not eligible for renewal or continuation of re-employment; andc. Eligible staff who turn down reasonable re-employment offers. An offer madein line with these guidelines can be considered reasonable.33. Eligible staff who are not offered re-employment upon their retirement at age 62, orare not re-employed up to the age of 63 years and 6 months, will be given anEAPayment that is equivalent to 3 months of their last drawn gross salary, subject to aminimum and maximum amount of $4,500 and $10,000 respectively.34. For eligible staff who are re-employed at least up to the age of 63 years and 6months, the EAPayment quantum will be reduced to 2 months of their last drawn reemploymentgross salary, subject to a minimum and maximum amount of $3,000 and$7,000 respectively. In addition, the EAPayment will not be greater than theremaining salary to be paid to the staff until they reach age 65.35. Where assignments for eligible Senior and Middle Management level staff are limited,EAPayment may be an appropriate alternative if re-employment is not feasible.Review of Guidelines36. The Polytechnic shall review and enhance the re-employment guidelines after 1 to 2years of implementation. More specific guidelines or rules will be available when thenew re-employment legislation is enacted in 2012. Schedule XI(Clause 42)(Cont’d)Polytechnic Academic Associate (PAA) Scheme1. The post of Polytechnic Academic Associate will carry a minimum annual pay of$30,000 to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. This salary is subject to CPFcontributions from both the employer and the employee, in accordance with therelevant CPF laws in Singapore and shall be payable only to an employee who is aSingapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident.2. A staff appointed to this post will be given medical coverage under the MediSavecum-SubsidisedOutpatient (MSO) scheme.3. The actual allocation of teaching/training hours will be subject to mutual agreementbetween the staff and NP at the point of offer of re-employment. One possibleallocation of this teaching/training load would be for a staff to be assigned 14 hoursper week of teaching load over the 30 teaching weeks.4. A staff who is required to teach more than the base load, e.g. more than 14 hours perweek; or other teaching assignments outside the 30 teaching weeks, will be suitablycompensated at $70 per extra hour worked.5. A staff who is required to teach in courses where the payment rate is more than $70per hour will have the difference in payment rate factored into the base load.6. The duties of a staff under this scheme are as follows:a. To conduct lectures, tutorials, workshops and laboratory sessions and to markattendance for such academic sessionsb. To prepare materials necessary and appropriate for the conduct of suchlectures, tutorials, workshops and laboratory sessionsc. To set and mark tests, essays, assignments, and term projects, related to themodule(s) assigned ; and to enter such marks to the computer systemsd. To attend student consultation sessions related to the module(s) assignede. To attend courses, meetings and any other consultation sessions related to theteaching assignments7. A staff under the Scheme may be appointed as a module leader to oversee not morethan 2 modules.
