Schedule XI(Clause 42)(Cont’d)Polytechnic Academic Associate (PAA) Scheme1. The post of Polytechnic Academic Associate will carry a minimum annual pay of$30,000 <strong>to</strong> be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. Th<strong>is</strong> salary <strong>is</strong> subject <strong>to</strong> CPFcontributions from both <strong>the</strong> employer and <strong>the</strong> employee, in accordance with <strong>the</strong>relevant CPF laws in Singapore and shall be payable only <strong>to</strong> an employee who <strong>is</strong> aSingapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident.2. A staff appointed <strong>to</strong> th<strong>is</strong> post will be given medical coverage under <strong>the</strong> MediSavecum-Subsid<strong>is</strong>edOutpatient (MSO) scheme.3. The actual allocation of teaching/training hours will be subject <strong>to</strong> mutual agreementbetween <strong>the</strong> staff and NP at <strong>the</strong> point of offer of re-employment. One possibleallocation of th<strong>is</strong> teaching/training load would be for a staff <strong>to</strong> be assigned 14 hoursper week of teaching load over <strong>the</strong> 30 teaching weeks.4. A staff who <strong>is</strong> required <strong>to</strong> teach more than <strong>the</strong> base load, e.g. more than 14 hours perweek; or o<strong>the</strong>r teaching assignments outside <strong>the</strong> 30 teaching weeks, will be suitablycompensated at $70 per extra hour worked.5. A staff who <strong>is</strong> required <strong>to</strong> teach in courses where <strong>the</strong> payment rate <strong>is</strong> more than $70per hour will have <strong>the</strong> difference in payment rate fac<strong>to</strong>red in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> base load.6. The duties of a staff under th<strong>is</strong> scheme are as follows:a. To conduct lectures, tu<strong>to</strong>rials, workshops and labora<strong>to</strong>ry sessions and <strong>to</strong> markattendance for such academic sessionsb. To prepare materials necessary and appropriate for <strong>the</strong> conduct of suchlectures, tu<strong>to</strong>rials, workshops and labora<strong>to</strong>ry sessionsc. To set and mark tests, essays, assignments, and term projects, related <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>module(s) assigned ; and <strong>to</strong> enter such marks <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> computer systemsd. To attend student consultation sessions related <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> module(s) assignede. To attend courses, meetings and any o<strong>the</strong>r consultation sessions related <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>teaching assignments7. A staff under <strong>the</strong> Scheme may be appointed as a module leader <strong>to</strong> oversee not morethan 2 modules.
