11. WORK WEEK(1) The Polytechnic operates a 5-day workweek. The daily workinghours are as follows -Mondays <strong>to</strong> Thursdays : 7.30 am - 5.00 pm8.00 am - 5.30 pm8.30 am - 6.00 pm9.00 am - 6.30 pm9.30 am - 7.00 pmFridays : 7.30 am - 4.30 pm8.00 am - 5.00 pm8.30 am - 5.30 pm9.00 am - 6.00 pm9.30 am - 6.30 pmThere will be a one-hour lunch break on every workday.(2) Notwithstanding sub-clause (1), flexibility within reasonable limitsas required by <strong>the</strong> teaching timetable should be given <strong>to</strong>academic staff.(3) As a guide, <strong>to</strong> facilitate meetings and student consultations, <strong>the</strong>start time for all academic staff should not be later than 9.30 am.(4) For <strong>the</strong> same reason ie. <strong>to</strong> facilitate meetings and studentconsultations, <strong>the</strong> end time for all academic staff should not beearlier than 4.00pm on weekdays.(5) Except for official duties off-campus or for o<strong>the</strong>r valid reasons, allemployees should be present on campus during working hours.(6) The Polytechnic shall ensure that <strong>the</strong> working environment in <strong>the</strong>campus <strong>is</strong> in compliance <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Workplace Safety and Health Act,especially in <strong>the</strong> prov<strong>is</strong>ion of adequate and proper air flow andventilation in <strong>the</strong> offices, classrooms, workshops, labora<strong>to</strong>riesand lecture <strong>the</strong>atres.CA 75 of 2011 Page 6 of 61Ngee Ann Polytechnic Academic Staff Agreement, 2011ASCA( NC 290711)
