Action Request System 5.1Tracing Guide ActivityModifying GuidesDeleting GuidesShared GuidesYou can create a log file of active link activity that will include all of the activelinks in a guide. This option logs information about active link activity foreach operation, including which active links executed and whether active linkexecution was successful. Active Link logging is activated in AR SystemWindows User Tool. For information about activating active link logging, seeAR System Windows User Tool help. When modifying a guide, it is not necessary to send the modified guide to theuser community again. The shortcut that you sent to your users is a pointerto the guide definition that resides on the AR System server. After you have deleted a guide, tell your user community to delete the guideshortcuts from their desktop. If users try to start a guide after it has beendeleted from the server, they will receive an error message.Guides can be “shared” by multiple forms. The way you define shared guidesis similar to the way you define a guide for an individual form, except thatyou attach the guide to multiple forms. If you do not want the guide to beshared, select only one form. Also, share any active links in the shared guidethat you want to execute on multiple forms. If a guide contains active linksthat do not belong to or are not shared with the current form, those activelinks will be shipped when the guide is executed.Note: Any changes you make to shared active links affect all guides andforms that use them.(See the Developing AR System Applications: Basic guide for instruction oncreating shared workflow.)28 "Chapter 1—Defining Guides and Guide Actions
