Directory Service Attributes and Object ClassesEnabling Your DataDeveloping AR System Applications: AdvancedThree object classes are defined to store the DSO field information: dsoBasic, dsoFull, and dsoAdvanced. These classes correspond to the basic, full, andadvanced fields that you add to your AR System forms. These object classesare cumulative: for basic fields, you need only the dsoBasic object class; forfull fields, you need dsoBasic and dsoFull; and for advanced, you need allthree object classes.Objects transferred using DSO must inherit from one or more of these objectclasses if you want to take advantage of DSO’s advanced features. Beforeenabling your data for DSO transfers, you must configure your directoryservice by adding the attribute and object class definitions provided in the filermdydso.schema.Consult your directory service documentation for further instructions.Once your directory service is aware of the attributes and object classes forDSO, you need to ensure that every object that you intend to transfer inheritsfrom one or more of the DSO object classes. This allows DSO to store data as attributes associated with each of yourobjects. For example, when ownership is transferred from one object toanother, the entry that is the owner must record a pointer to the originatingentry down the ownership chain for update and return operations. An entry that supports the basic set of DSO fields must inherit from thedsoBasic object class. For example, an inetorgperson object generallyinherits from the following object classes:toppersonorganizationalpersoninetorgpersonWorking with the Distributed Server Option ! 395
