There are severalcases to consider:Case 1. Active links tied to a Set Default condition areexecuted when a guide is waiting and the user chooses the Setto Defaults menu item.Case 2. A guide is executed by an active link tied to a WindowOpen condition. In this case, the guide is initialized, but notstarted because the user interface is not yet visible. After theguide has initialized, the active links tied to the Set Defaultcondition execute. After the field list and display symbols areset up, the guide is executed.Case 3. A guide is executed from the Open dialog box inAR System Windows User Tool. In this case, the guide isinitialized first, and then the guide opens the form. TheWindow Open condition occurs and is followed by the SetDefault condition. Lastly, the guide executes.Case 4. When the “on new” or “on search” behaviors are setto “set fields to default values,” any active links tied to the SetDefault condition are executed when a guide is waiting or asthe result of a Run Macro action executed by the guide (aftera send or a search).If you close the form on which a guide is running, the guideis terminated. Active links tied to the Window Closecondition are executed before the guide terminates. Usuallythis occurs while a guide is waiting, but it can happen when aguide executes a Run Macro action.Active links that have this condition are honored when aguide waits. AR System Windows User Tool treats formbuttons as fields. If you click a button while a guide is in await, the guide displays the “user is off the guide” dialog andexecutes the active links tied to the button.These conditions can be triggered only when a guide isexecuting a wait.
