Selecting and Playing Styles4 Stop the style.You can do this in one of three ways:■ Pressing the [START/STOP] buttonThe rhythm/accompaniment stops playing immediately.■ Using an Ending sectionPress the [INTRO/ENDING] button. The style stops after the Ending sectionis finished.■ Pressing the [SYNC START] buttonThis stops the style and automatically enables Sync Start, letting you re-startthe style by simply playing a chord or key in the ACMP section of the keyboard(or any key when accompaniment is off).• To have the Ending section graduallyslow down (ritardando) as itis playing, press the [INTRO/ENDING] button twice quickly.Changing the TempoThe Tempo of song (and style) playback can be adjusted over a range of 40 - 240bpm (beats per minute). For instructions on changing the Tempo, see page 31.• Each style has been given adefault or standard tempo. Whenstyle playback is stopped and adifferent style is selected, thetempo returns to the default settingof the new style. Whenswitching styles during playback,the last tempo setting is maintained.(This allows you to keepthe same tempo, even whenchanging styles.)• You can also use the convenientTap Tempo function to changethe tempo by “tapping” a new onein real time. (See page 44.)Style Sections (Main A, Main B) and Fill-insWhile the style is playing you can create dynamic variation in the rhythm andaccompaniment by pressing the [MAIN/AUTO FILL] button. This switchesbetween the Main A and Main B sections, automatically playing a fill-in pattern tosmoothly lead into the next section. For example, if the Main A section is currentlyplaying, pressing this button automatically plays a fill-in pattern, followedby the Main B section.You can also select either the Main A or B section to start by pressing the [MAIN/AUTO FILL] button before starting the style.• Fill-in patterns are not availablewhen one of the Pianist styles(#081 - #100) are selected.46

This volume controlaffects only the style volume. The volume range is 000 - 127.1 Select the Accompaniment Volume function in the Overallmenu.Press the [OVERALL] button, repeatedly if necessary, until “ACMP VOL”appears in the display.Current Accompaniment Volume value110ACMP VOLIndicates AccompanimentVolume is selectedACMPONTEMPO1162 Change the value.Use the numeric keypad to set the desired Accompaniment Volume value(000 - 127). You can also use the [+]/[-] buttons to increase or decrease thevalue. Holding down either button continuously increases or decreases thevalue.• Accompaniment Volume cannotbe changed unless the Stylemode is active.Restoring the Default AccompanimentVolume ValueIf you’ve changed the AccompanimentVolume setting, you caninstantly restore the default settingof “110” by pressing both [+]/[-]buttons simultaneously (whenAccompaniment Volume isselected).47
